I first came across Parra when reading through a cool Nike publication over at Arcade. His distinct illustration style is pretty hard to miss; the simplistic, pointy-faced, hand-drawn characters with bold, vibrant colours and superb typography are nothing short of awesome. He’s also another reason why I can’t wait to go to Amsterdam.

Rik Catlow, aka RIKCAT of North Carolina has a super nice graff-illustration style, I especially like his thick line work combined with collage, it looks great on squashed cans too. If you have a spare $100US or so, perhaps you might light to check out his shop on Etsy.

Interesting branding exploration for 1:1 Architects by COOP. I love that their logo/brand is a 3D object that’s used across multiple mediums:

“Collaboration was interpreted through the picture mark. The three-dimensional mark was based on the geometric principals of the tesseract (a four-dimensional cube) where imagination and varying inputs create many possible angles. Unique in its three-dimensional form the picture mark references the process of architecture. Not complete until constructed, the mark was imagined, sketched, planned, rendered and built.”

Commissioned work for BBH New York by Steven Wilson to promote the launch of nycgo.com. He’s nicely tapping into the colourful/diverse aspects of the city, and they look great in the adshells. Something like this would be perfect for Toronto too I think.
